LNG PRODUCTION LAUNCHED AT LNG PLANT NEAR PORTOVAYA COMPRESSOR STATION

The LNG Complex near the Portovaya compressor station started producing LNG, the first cargo of LNG was shipped from the Portovy floating storage to the Pskov gas carrier. On 6 September 2022 at the 2022 Eastern Economic Forum Vitaly Markelov, Gazprom Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board, announced the start of liquefied natural gas (LNG) production at the Portovaya LNG Plant.

The LNG project for the Portovaya Plant near the Portovaya compressor station is implemented with the aim of ensuring energy security of the Russian Kaliningrad Oblast. The Facility mechanical completion was reached.

On 30 May 2022, gas was delivered to start hot commissioning activities. LNG production in two process liquefaction trains was launched in August. Integrated testing (72 hours) of the Facility systems and equipment was successfully completed on 5 September.

The final project stage and all start-up activities were carried out by personnel of PETON Group of Companies without involvement of Licensor representatives. Amid current tough restrictions and sanctions, PETON will carry on developing its competencies in the LNG projects based on the accumulated experience in the integrated implementation of the Facility.
