May is traditionally the month of professional skills competitions, which are timed to coincide with Welder’s Day – a professional holiday celebrated in Russia annually on the last Friday of May.
On May 27, an exhibition was held in the Congress Hall in Ufa, in which manufacturers of welding equipment and non-destructive testing, applicants and employers took part, among which the technological engineering holding PETON, which includes the construction company “Peton Construction” – one of the largest employers in the industry for blue-collar job applicants from Bashkortostan, also presented a stand.
As part of a career guidance festival “Welding and Control Fest”, PETON not only presented a stand, but also sent its representative to the professional skills competition at the Welding Competence Center of the Republic of Bashkortostan GAC at the open competition “Best Welder of the Republic of Bashkortostan”. The company was represented by welder Ratsyl Mukhametov, who demonstrated theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the field of welding, and took the 2nd place.
At the regional stage of the National Competition of Professional Skills “Stroymaster”, organized on the basis of the Bashkir College of Welding, Assembly and Industrial Production in Ufa, Ravil Gimaev, welder from “Peton Construction”, took the 3rd place. The competition included a theoretical part in the form of a test and a practical task on making a vertical weld and a weld in an inclined position at an angle of 45 degrees.
