Novoshakhtinsk Petroleum Products Plant (NZNP) and Scientific Research and Design Institute of Oil and Gas Peton (SRDI Oil & Gas “Peton”) on July 24 signed an engineering contract to design an Advanced Oil Refining Complex.
PETON is going to carry out the development of the design and detailed documentation, support and acceptance of the basic design, as well as take part in the selection of licensors for oil refining processes. The facilities to be designed by PETON will include a Diesel Fuel and Kerosene Hydrotreating Unit, a Hydrocracker Unit, a Delayed Coking Unit, Sulfur Recovery and Hydrogen Generation Units, as well as off-site facilities. Earlier, an agreement was signed between NZNP and the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation on the modernization of oil refining facilities, which provides for the development of secondary oil processing and production of products that meet Euro-5 quality standards. NZNP is implementing the investment projects foreseen by the agreement as planned. The Novoshakhtinsk refinery with a capacity of up to 7.5 million tons of oil was launched in October 2009. Novoshakhtinsk refinery is the only refinery in the Rostov region, which employs about 1.5 thousand people.
