Peton opens training center for Amur GPP operators in Ufa

2014-12-01

A state-of-the-art training center is to be open on the base of NIPI NG “Peton”. The center is created to prepare high-qualified staff for management of Amur GPP and helium complex. The training center is  equipped jointly with Schneider Electric/ Invensys under operational license model of PETON/LINDE. The educational center will be capable to train a required number of personnel by the time Phase  I of Amur complex is started. It will have sufficient capacity to train and retrain staff on a regular basis.

The training center will be proud of the following parameters:

  • Capacity – 8 persons every two months. Approximately 400 Operators will complete the training in the training center by 2022.
  • Schneider Electric/ Invensys state-of-the-art equipment and software.
  • Complete simulation of the production control center
  • Qualified trainers

Simulators enhance operating and engineering staff’s professional level, provide necessary field experience, develop base skills in working with control system and response in emergency situations. At the same time, there is no risk to affect real technological process and no “experiments” with real objects.

One of the most effective approaches to education and qualification improvement of the operators is using computer real-time simulators.   Such simulators are aimed at creating integrated skills on decision making, which are based on the capability of dynamic object and control system response modeling depending on spontaneous actions of the Operator.

Working stations allow modeling of any professional’s work according to the role models, as well as emulating of any machinery functioning; and using variable algorithms, scenarios. It builds process understanding, fine-tunes  Operator’s actions, improves dispatcher’s competence and response, increases volume of perceived and controlled information, and the most essential relieves fear. Operators will be able to acquire required experience and build interaction.

The training center will mitigate risks of the Client related to qualification of personnel and will fully provide a required level of specialists’ qualification. The training center will start functioning in the beginning of 2015 and will be capable of providing competent personnel when Amur complex starts up.
