FIRST HELIUM UNIT LAUNCHED AT AGPP, BEING IMPLEMENTED WITH THE DIRECT PARTICIPATION OF TECHNOLOGICAL HOLDING PETON

2021-09-06

The first of the three Helium Units has started operation at Amur Gas Processing Plant (AGPP), as well as the world's largest logistics hub for servicing helium containers for transporting liquid helium to the world market has been commissioned, and its annual throughput capacity is over 4,000 operations with helium containers, reported Gazprom.

On 3 September 2021, the production of liquid helium was successfully launched, and the first container for export has already left AGPP’s territory.

The production capacity of the Unit is 20 million cubic meters of helium per year, and after the start-up of all the three Helium Units, AGPP will annually produce 60 million cubic meters of helium and will become the world leader in the helium production.

Linde, which is a partner of Technological Engineering Holding PETON under the Project, expressed gratitude to the Management of NIPI NG PETON and the entire team for their participation in the Project and contribution to the successful achievement of the set goals.

“Achieving an important milestone shows that our common hard work is delivering the intended results, therefore Linde would like to take this opportunity to thank you again for your efforts and contributions to this success,” said Linde project managers, highlighting PETON's significant contribution to the project execution.

PETON participates in the Project in the EPSS format (engineering, procurement and site services). Under the contract, PETON has been working jointly with Russian and international partners on the engineering, equipment supply and construction support for NGL/NRU and Helium Concentrate Production, as well as Helium Fine Purification, Liquefaction and Packaging Units.
