PETON CONSTRUCTION TOPS THE LIST OF WORLDSKILLS CONTEST WINNERS UNDER NATIONAL PROJECT “LABOUR PRODUCTIVITY”

2022-04-21

The contest received 142 applications from 47 regions of Russia.  15 winners, including Peton Construction – a major construction company – will open corporate accelerated training centres (CATCs). CATC is an in-house centre intended for competence assessment and accelerated vocational training. WorldSkills Russia – the organisation that rated the participants’ applications – will render consulting and technical support to the winners during the establishment of corporate educational centres.

To open their CATCs, companies had to build teams, identify top-priority HR needs, and defend their projects in front of the panel. Peton Construction’s team presented a project of its corporate university and CATC.

At present, the company has launched its Corporate University project and is taking efforts to obtain the required licences. The company has developed the following training programmes: “Welding Engineering”, “Health and Safety Specialist”, “Slinger”. It has launched Classrooms to train workers and linear engineers in diverse vocational areas, arranged a welding site for both basic and advanced practical training. The company administers a large-scale knowledge testing at one of its facilities and upgrades its mentoring and internship system.

CATC will render support to the Corporate University for optimisation of the processes, development of educational tracks, training in WorldSkills programmes, consulting and supporting of scaling activities, and implementation of targeted programmes.

“Creation of a CATC under the Corporate University project will improve labour productivity by creating corporate standards, training programmes, building the staff competency and assessment model, recruiting the best vocational trainers, ensuring performance review in accordance with Worldskills requirements, and rendering training services to other companies in the future”, said the representatives of Peton Construction press office.

By the end of 2022 Russia will have 30 CATCs under the National Project “Labour Productivity” supervised by Andrey Belousov, First Deputy Prime Minister. This year, the largest number of corporate proactive training centres will be opened in the Republic of Bashkortostan – hosted by three companies.
