2022-05-24

On May 19-20, 2022, a meeting was held between representatives of PETON, Peton Construction, and Professional Skills Development Agency (WorldSkills Russia). Agency representatives, namely Timur Khakimov – Head of Corporate Accelerated Training Centre (CATCs) Network Operations Department, and Maria Kozlova – Corporate Standard Compilation Quality Coordinator, arrived to Ufa office of the Company.

The event included a guided tour over the facility, Corporate Training Centre and welding platform, meetings with the Company management and team, a training in corporate standard compilation, and an interaction with the CATC team developing a corporate standard was held (CATC is an in-house centre for evaluation of personnel competences and accelerated professional training).

The meeting was intended to develop a Corporate Standard for Insulation Workers. The delegation involved representatives of top management of PETON Construction, Corporate University, and production unit at the LNG site near Portovaya Compressor Station.

“A team of motivated professionals was formed during development of a Corporate Accelerated Training Centre on the basis of Peton Construction and is lead directly by the Company Head, and consists of Human Resources and Production Managers. The Company has accumulated extensive experience in process areas, including unique technologies. With account of tried-and-tested technologies and additional WorldSkills procedures, the top priority task of CATC foundation was to standardize the trade of insulation worker processing cellular glass (one of the most functional and environmentally friendly heat insulation materials), to form an internal model for personnel evaluation and retraining to be used as a basis for future areas of Corporate University launch and development for training of specialists both for Company and for external market.” a representative of WorldSkills Russia shared his outlook.

It should be noted that in April 2022, Peton Construction topped the list of winners of WorldSkills Contest within the Labour Productivity national project, and the Company started creation of CATC within the Corporate University organization. This study was aimed to improve labour productivity by creating corporate standards, training programmes, building the staff competency and assessment model, recruiting the best professional trainers, ensuring performance review in accordance with WorldSkills requirements, and rendering training services to other companies in the future.

During its operation, WorldSkills Russia provides consulting and technical support to the winners within implementation of company-based educational centres.
