Peton speach at roundtable on import substitution during ENES

2016-11-27

Within the framework of the Business Programme of THE FIFTH INTERNATIONAL FORUM ENES-2016, E.S. Gasanov, Chairman of PETON’s Board of Directors, made a report at a panel discussion on the issues of import substitution and its support tools.

In his speech Mr. Gasanov answered the question on how the share of Russian-made equipment could be increased in the structure of EPCM projects for the fuel and energy complex.

According to the speaker, the nation’s innovative potential is largely concentrated in FEC, apart from nuclear and defence industries. Currently, there are two basic scenarios for domestic engineering: import substitution over the entire production chain of EPC projects or adaptation of foreign licensors’ solutions to Russian standards and requirements without impairing process efficiency. This was implemented in the Amursky Project.

Other speakers in the discussion included: Vladimir Fortov, the President of the Russian Academy of Sciences; Kirill Molodtsov, Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation; Vasily Osmakov, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation; heads of leading companies and representatives of major holding companies.

All the attendees noted that the programme was varied and informative and a large number of companies were represented. They also appreciated the excellent arrangements made to organisation of the forum.
